Theirs was a feud fabricated from thin air, a placeholder to put Batista near the main event picture without throwing him directly into the fray (no, that was a few days later, at the Royal Rumble, and we all saw how that went over). He's been ratcheted back to Del Rio again, to follow through on their initial war of words and backstage attacks. If Del Rio wins, it makes the Royal Rumble winner look ridiculous and completely de-values his position in the main event at WrestleMania. So it's a given that Batista's hand will be raised. Here's the shock value: Batista will be booked to look near-insane in his intent to defeat nay, destroy Alberto Del Rio. They will want Batista to look far superior to anyone he could possibly face at WrestleMania, so that people will want to pay good money to see the battle. They may also have decided to go with the flow, and make Batista super-evil because the new champion will be a babyface...
