WWE: 10 Candidates For Coaches On Revamped 'Tough Enough'

5. William Regal

William Regal recently celebrated 30 years in the wrestling business, having spent only half of them in WWE. Over the course of his tenure with the company, Regal has won an array of champions, served as an on-air authority figure and even reigned as the 2008 King of the Ring. Outside of WWE, Regal has traveled the world and has competed in more countries than one can count. Since semi-retiring from the ring in 2011, Regal has been a commentator for WWE's developmental territory NXT in addition to being a talent scout. As great of a commentator that Regal has been in recent years, WWE isn't utilizing him to his full potential. He always has spectacular stories to tell when calling matches down in NXT, some fact and some fiction. Either way, they enhance the action and show how knowledgeable Regal is about the business. From CM Punk to Daniel Bryan to Chris Hero, Regal has had a hand in training some of the best wrestlers in the world today, which is why he'd make for the perfect coach on Tough Enough. Like Finlay, Regal has a very tough exterior and can discipline the aspiring athletes with his coaching. He can teach the talent all about the culture of the wrestling world given everywhere he's traveled to over the last three decades. With Regal having dealt with demons at various points in his career, the rookies could learn the lesson of making mistakes and how it could cost them a push (see: 2008). The British brawler may have never won a world championship, but not allowing Regal to relay his lifelong experiences to up-and-coming wrestlers is blasphemy.
