WWE: 10 Divas From The 90s That We Loved

5. Miss Elizabeth

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVXwLBIzcys One of the first women to be featured prominently was the woman known as Miss Elizabeth. The real life wife of Randy Savage, Elizabeth was a stunning beauty who walked down to the ring with Savage while wearing gorgeous dresses that exemplified her beauty. Her career started in the late 1980s and went into the 1990s with the most famous moment happening at WrestleMania VII. Savage was a cocky heel that just lost a retirement match to Ultimate Warrior and Liz was in the crowd for support even though they were estranged at the time. After Savage lost, his new manager Sherri berated him for it and Liz came run down the aisle to make the save. It was so rare to see Liz get physical in any way that the crowd popped really loud for it. Fans were crying as Liz reunited with Macho Man and later in the year they had a wedding on television. A lot of female wrestling fans grew up as big fans of Elizabeth because when they watched her they realized that a woman really could make it in the business without taking bumps or putting your body on the line like the men do. What Elizabeth did was very basic, but it worked for her. She wasn't there to be an aggressive heel like Sherri. She was the girl next door that everybody liked. When her WWE run was over in 1992, she moved to WCW a few years later. She actually tried the heel thing while there too. It wasn't as effective as her heel work, but she was still a popular figure that knew how to do her job well. Sadly, Elizabeth died in 2003 at the age of 42. She has not been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but hopefully one day she is remembered for all that she did in her career.
