7. Festus

Drew Hankinson has probably had the worst luck in wrestling history when it comes to being held back by a gimmick. Hankinson has had the misfortune of playing all the three of the following characters: Imposter Kane, Festus and Luke Gallows. Let€™s start with the first gimmick they shoved on Hankinson: Imposter Kane. In this role he would dress and act exactly as the original Kane previously did in his early years and attacked the Big Red Monster at random moments. Which developed into the pair squaring off at the 2006 Vengeance PPV; the match was like watching a computer game in which you and your mate have both chosen to battle as the same character. Strangely Imposter Kane picked up the win at the PPV, which gathered zero reaction from a confused crowd. The following night on Raw, Kane destroyed Imposter Kane, took his old mask back and threw the fake out the building; abruptly bringing an end to awful gimmick number one. Festus is arguably the worst of the three gimmicks that Hankinson was lumbered with. Here he was part of a hillbilly tag team with partner, Jesse. Festus appeared to be mentally challenged and Jesse would need to hold on to his arm as he walked him down the ring. The character would remain unresponsive with his mouth wide open and tongue sticking out, until the bell rang at which point he would morph into an aggressive powerhouse. Once the match was over he would turn back into the docile character that was previously ushered to the ring. Their final attempt at a character for Hankinson was Luke Gallows, a sidekick to a heel CM Punk. Unfortunately, all Gallows seemed to do was stand behind Punk and shake his head in agreement as Punk spat a promo. They had the occasional tag team match up, but once again the character didn't really go anywhere.
