WWE: 10 Greatest Hell in a Cell Matches

7. The Undertaker vs. Edge

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnOMCC5BWLM When: SummerSlam 2008 Where: Los Angeles, California By now you're probably realising The Undertaker is somewhat of a specialist when it comes to these matches. In all, he has participated in 12 of these monstrous matches in his illustrious career; considerably more than anybody else. After injuries to nearly every top star on Smackdown in 2007, things were starting to look up by the end of the year when Edge returned and cost the Undertaker his championship match with Batista. This gave Undertaker a second motive to be mad at Edge due to also losing the World Heavyweight title to him after a Money in the Bank cash-in. At Armageddon, in a triple threat between the aforementioned parties, Edge triumphed thanks to a little assistance from his new 'Edgeheads' (now known as Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder). By beating Batista inside the Elimination Chamber to be no. 1 contender, he set-up a showdown with Edge for WrestleMania. As he is accustomed to, Undertaker reigned supreme in a fantastic affair, before meddling from Vickie Guerrero (Edge's liaison) caused Taker not only to lose his championship but his job as Edge came out on top in a TLC match. But when Vickie & Edge hit a rocky patch, there was only one method of revenge on Vickie's agenda; re-instating the Undertaker to face Edge inside Hell in a Cell. Both men gave it their all at SummerSlam. With Edge showing no nerves of his first Hell in a Cell, bringing in his more familiar arsenal of tables, ladders and chairs, he set about dismantling the Undertaker. Edge's character was at its superb best here; equal to anything he produced with Lita in 2006. He delivered two devastating spears, the first crashing through the cell wall and the second through the announce table. But as so often is the case, it wasn't enough to keep the Undertaker down - a Tombstone Piledriver finally cementing Edge's fate. As a final stamping point, Undertaker chokeslammed Edge off a ladder through the ring as flames engufled the torn canvas, effectively sending the Rated R Superstar straight to hell. Summer is often hot, but this SummerSlam match was a scorcher.
