WWE: 10 Huge Errors On The Road To WrestleMania 30

9. Alienating Their Second Biggest Full Time Asset

CM Punk was the second most important performer in WWE, his merchandise sales certainly reflected this. So how does the WWE treat this valuable asset who is going to make them loads of money? They overlook him and instead book him in a sideshow match for Mania in order to appease him. Punk wasn't happy with his treatment from the company. He felt disrespected and unappreciated, he had been working himself into the ground but was big enough only for the fifth match down the card? It wasn't good enough for Punk. When he heard his Mania match would be a losing effort to Triple H at Mania 30 he instead decided to quit. Right or wrong on Punk's part, it was undoubtedly an error on WWE's part to allow a situation like this to happen. WrestleMania 30 would have been a far better show with Punk on it, by allowing him to go AWOL they've made the event a bit poorer. They could and should have got him back to work, instead they failed to act and the issue ended up causing vocal disruption and a damaging perception of Mania.
