WWE: 10 Lasting Legacies Of The Undertaker (Other Than The Streak)

5. Paul Bearer And Him Are The Best Wrestler/Manager Combo Ever

When Paul Bearer died in March of 2013, there was a lot of sadness in the wrestling world because he was the most beloved managers in the history of wrestling. For most of Undertaker's career, he had Bearer by his side. It's not like Undertaker always needed Bearer there, but when Taker was just starting out it definitely helped his persona to have this scary looking ghoulish figure by his side. Last year prior to WrestleMania, CM Punk and Paul Heyman used Bearer's death as a way to get heat on them going into Punk's match with Undertaker. It was a risky angle to do, but they knew it would draw huge heat and they were right in that regard. Fans hated them for it, especially as Punk dumped ashes on Undertaker. Of course Undertaker won at WrestleMania 29 to get revenge, but it's still something fans didn't like. Just like any great pairing in wrestling, they did break up too. Bearer's heel turn on Undertaker in the summer of 1996 was very shocking and upset a lot of people. They did manage to get back on the same page as they continued to prove that they were the best wrestler/manager combination in the history of wrestling. Paul Bearer was inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. Undertaker didn't speak during the induction, but he did show up to pay his respects to his former friend and manager.
