Could the compelling creative angle that convinced Steve Austin to come in for WrestleMania 30 be related to CM Punk? And could Punk himself have been convinced to return to WWE with the lure of Steve Austin match? We will find out tonight. We know for sure that Austin said he wasn't going to be involved in Mania 30 without good reason. We also know Dave Meltzer thinks something could be going on with Punk. Could it all fit together? Adding fire to the fuel was the question a fan asked Austin this week at Jim Ross's talk event. Asked if he would be interested in working with Punk at a Mania, Austin replied "Never say never." He has also guaranteed Punk will be in New Orleans at WrestleMania. While these are just as likely to be coincidences, there's no denying how great it would be if the long shot proved true and WWE were doing something with Punk and Austin tonight. It could be as simple as Austin coming to the ring and saying he convinced 'an old friend' to come back to the business. He would then call out Punk. The straight edge superstar could then reveal his reasons for quitting before saying "I came back for one reason... StoneCold Steve Austin in the main event of WrestleMania 31." Oh hell yeah!
