WWE: 10 Memorable Times Superstars Pulled Double Duty At PPVs

1. Kurt Angle - King Of The Ring 2001

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97jNJQKQTOI In his prime, Angle was a physical freak. Pulling triple duty on this night, he went after a second straight King of the Ring title. In the semi-finals, he disposed of Christian rather quickly, establishing his superior notch on the ladder. Edge, on the other hand, gave Angle a great challenge in the Finals of this tournament. Looking to become only the second multiple-time winner of the tournament, Angle fell just short in a fantastic match with Edge. Now, for most, that would be a sufficient night performance-wise. Angle, however, was insatiable. His final effort for the night was battling Shane McMahon in a brutal Street Fight. Totaling about 26 minutes of glass shattering, table breaking, and Angle slamming, Angle emerged victorious for the second time that night. Although he did not achieve as much as Bret, I find Angle's pure athletic putout on this night to be unparalleled. Most wrestlers would just pack it up after a Street Fight like the one he had with Shane, but that just wasn't good enough for an athlete like Angle. This night was just another example of why Angle remains as one of the best natural athletes to ever grace the WWE ring.
