5. Building A Warrior
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KaX3ZWWVG4 Besides watching an incredible amount of professional wrestling, I've been known to play a videogame or two in my time. When the two hobbies meet up, it can be some great fun. When I played wrestling games growing up, I'd like to play as my favorites to battle my friends. The problem is, Warrior has not been in a lot of games. Sure, I got to play as him in The WrestleMania Challenge for the NES, but after that we had a pretty lengthy drought except for some clunkers like the forgettable WWF In Your House. Unfortunately, Warrior missed out on some of the best wrestling games of all time like WCW Revenge and WWF WrestleMania 2000 for the N64. To rectify this problem, I created him in Mania 2000, No Mercy and the future SmackDown games. If THQ couldn't give me Warrior, I'd make my own! Were they great copies of the real thing? Nah. But it was the only way I was going to get Warrior vs. Austin, or taking on The Rock, or a battle against Goldberg. After WCW and ECW went out of business, we were left without two major companies to watch, which also meant less games to play. So, Acclaim, who formerly worked on WWF games, made Showdown: Legends of Wrestling. It was the first time we had Warrior in a game in years. I picked up a copy, and was excited for some big, official showdowns. And well...the game was awful. Years later, Warrior finally re-emerged in WWE All Stars and 2K14. All was right in the videogame/wrestling world. To this day, there's just something iconic and ever-lasting about the character. He even looks like something straight out of a game, which may be why fans still want to play as him or match him up against today's top stars.
Andrew Soucek
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
