This is always the riskiest prediction at the start of the year. Who will win the big one? Some years it's a lock (Cena last year and Orton in 2009) but this year seems genuinely quite open. We'll have the big returns in Sheamus and Batista. The usual mix of lower mid-carders to flesh out the middle entries. Probably a couple of one-off surprises. Then there are the big names. Daniel Bryan never really had an 'end' to his story. He was screwed in the storylines and he was screwed behind the scenes too. What could have been an eight month story leading to WrestleMania of Bryan against The Authority was derailed by poor writing and terrible booking. We had the non-endings to matches. We had the unexplained Scott Armstrong incident. Then we had Bryan pushed to the back of the queue by management in favour of Cena. It just feels that there is another chapter to be played out here. Strong word is that Batista will win but I hope I'm right with this prediction because it will freshen up the Rumble and make it unpredictable again. The past three years have been the most predictable in Rumble History with Del Rio, Sheamus and Cena getting the rub. Add to that Orton winning two years before Del Rio and the Rumble match, whilst still an excellent spectacle, has lost its lustre when it comes to winners. A Bryan win would reinvigorate this for the fans. Even those that don't like the bearded one must see that another Batista or Sheamus win would do little for the product. Either way, Bryan is my pick and I'm sticking to it. There we go. My ten predictions for the WWE this year. To be honest, if I get 50% right by this time next year, I'll be happy because these aren't just predictions, these things I want to see. The WWE, quite rightly, doesn't always give the fans exactly what they want. It would be boring. I hope they reward us some of the time though and if I get to see a Jericho return, a Bryan Rumble win and Taker versus Lesnar, I'll be a happy man.
