7. The Breakup Of The Shield Is Intriguing

The way that WWE has booked The Shield since their debut in late 2012 has been incredible. Not only have Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose been able to put on great matches with so many people, but they've also become main event level performers. That's not to say that one of them is going to main event a PPV right now, but as a group they have been put in the position to where fans buy them in main events on television. They're a credible team that always puts on an entertaining show. We don't know exactly when they're going to split or if they should even be considered heels at this point. The way they've been booked against the Wyatt Family has seen them in the face role. Fans are starting to cheer for them more often. Is it just because they can see that Reigns is going to be a breakout star or do they genuinely like them at this point? Since Reigns has been tabbed as the next breakout star (those 12 Royal Rumble eliminations were proof of that), the belief is that Ambrose would stay a heel while Rollins would be in more of a tweener role. There were rumors that they might have a triple threat match at WrestleMania, but with another triple threat likely on that show it seems doubtful at this point. There have been rumors about their breakup for months. While it would be nice if the group could stay together for two or three years, that's just not likely in today's WWE. The best thing we can do is simply enjoy the ride because The Shield is one of the best stables WWE has ever had. All three guys have a bright future. It should be an awesome 2014 and beyond for all of them.
