10. It Fits With The PPV Theme
Extreme Rules needs matches with Extreme Rules. It's the one night a year that WWE pays homage to ECW and hardcore wrestling, and isn't afraid to push boundaries. That being said, the last few Extreme Rules PPVs haven't been truly noteworthy or particularly edgy. With the exception of Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena, the matches from recent Extreme Rules haven't had the same electricity as the ones we saw at WWE's One Night Stand PPVs, the very PPVs that inspired Extreme Rules. The majority of the matches we've seen feature gimmicks that have already happened and that we're pretty familiar with. New gimmick that they have introduced have included Country Whipping matches and Extreme Makeover matches. Fans are clamouring for a match that isn't just interesting, but has obvious potential for follow-up matches. It'd be great to see a new, exciting match type at Extreme Rules because it would make the PPV seem more significant and worth watching again.
