WWE: 10 Reasons Money In The Bank Match Should Return At Wrestlemania 30
6. A Gimmick Match At The Big Event
Wrestlemania is known for a card that is mostly stacked with one on one pinfall or submission matches. In a way, it's one of the purest cards on the calendar. Yes, occasionally gimmick matches come into play. Taker versus HHH in the cage was brilliant but for every match like that, we also get sumo wrestling and Playboy pillow fights. Really?! For a card that showcases one on one individuals, the Money in the Bank ladder match is a great way to put a gimmick on the card but one that's also been tried and tested. In a way, it's also a simply gimmick because it's simply about a contract but, to repeat, it creates great moments that one on ones simply can't. Also, for the biggest event of the year, a gimmick match provides the peril 80,000 plus want to see that can't be seen through HHH tapping out to John Cena. Gimmick matches can be overdone, as is the feeling with the June PPV, but this makes this gimmick match special again, just like Elimination Chamber going down to one match. It creates an air of excitement and, for WrestleMania, opening with a gimmick match warms the crowd up far better than a pre-show 18 man Battle Royal.
