9. Industry Innovator
This move will not just be getting talked about in wrestling circles, it will be sending waves throughout the whole entertainment industry. This is a major corporation changing the business model of their content consumption - other entertainment companies are going to be standing up and taking note. The brave and ambitious move is Vince McMahon at his best, making bold decisions that pay off huge dividends. Vince did it with the original PPV concept, he did it with Wrestlemania and now he will be hoping he has pulled off the next great industry innovation with this. Sure, he has had the occasional risk that hasn't come off - notably the XFL - but the network seems the perfect tonic to seize upon a falling wrestling audience. Fans are going to get locked in to consuming and paying for content. It is a refreshing change to see the WWE leading this way on this entertainment advancement. In the last few years we have got used to seeing the UFC and their President Dana White being the key innovator of sports entertainment and pay per view markets. Not any more. WWE have left the UFC trailing with this network launch, showing White the way to go for once. The UFC President stated that when he fist got the MMA job he copied Vince's PPV innovations and business model, I would expect him to now copy the Network innovation too.
