WWE: 10 Reasons The Undertaker Could Retire At WrestleMania 30
9. Anniversary Year
It won't just be The Undertaker who might be tempted to retire on a decade note, Vince McMahon will also want to mark the anniversary of WrestleMania. That was certainly the case for WrestleMania 20, which McMahon actively promoted as an anniversary celebration "Where it all begins ... again!" The big idea for McMahon making WrestleMania 20 go down in history was to ascend Chris Benoit to the World Title. It worked. WWE got the finest main event, arguably ever, and the image of Benoit and Guerrero in the ring at the end should have been immortal. Tragically, that moment was killed alongside Benoit's wife and child when the wrestler committed the heinous double murder suicide of 2007. WWE stopped referencing the WrestleMania 20 history. This year, Vince will look to restore the decade anniversaries of WrestleMania as something special. As a big historical marker, what could possibly top The Undertaker retiring on a victory over Brock Lesnar? Both he and McMahon may be feeling the time is now on a big anniversary show.
