WWE: 10 Steps To Booking Sting For WrestleMania 30 (And Beyond)

3. Entering 2015

Having said that Sting should be undefeated in his year with WWE, we have the issue that he is now champion ... but I also don't see him hanging on to the title long. He doesn't need the belt, the win is more about a moment than it is a run. He needs to somehow drop the belt without hurting his momentum. The answer has to be a triple threat match at Survivor Series in which Sting doesn't get pinned. It makes sense that this would be Sting vs Cena vs Orton given the recent matches, and Cena would get his belt back by pinning Orton. Technically WWE could state Sting still hasn't been beaten since coming back. At TLC the Icon could do battle again with Orton in a gimmick match, or he could even just have a month off altogether - there's a lot to be said for time off giving a character a greater profile. It makes the audience want and appreciate them more. With January, Sting would undoubtedly enter the Royal Rumble match up. In this, we can reignite the year long tease for an Undertaker feud ... by chance have Sting in at number 1 and the Deadman in at number 2. It would be an intriguing preview of the Mania bout, and again give necessity to a match taking place. This could further develop with Sting in fact eliminating Taker. Now the question would be asked, does Sting have Taker's number? Why did Taker never return Sting's challenge? The next night on Raw all doubt could be put aside. Undertaker could come to the ring and accept Sting's challenge from a year ago.
