The next night, Paul Heyman (appearing without his advocate) arrives on Raw to announce that Rousey will not be appearing that evening - or on any Raw, for that matter. She is a prize fighter and she will appear when she deems fit, dammit! This, naturally, draws the ire of the crowd (it's supposed to - she's a heel, duh), but it's true: for the remainder of her title reign, Ronda only appears on PPV, taking out a number of top women in the division through a four-month reign that takes her into SummerSlam 2017. And it is here that WWE consolidates their next megastar female wrestler. SummerSlam is where we see a face - Bayley? Hey, talk about your ultimate underdog story! - upend Ronda in one of the biggest upsets in WWE history, bringing the title back to wrestling in a moment for the ages. It's a massive, massive call, obviously - Ronda is professionally unbeaten and will likely still be so by the time she takes part in her first WWE match, so having her lose would be colossal - and arguably hard to believe - but if she wants to hold the strap, that, for me, would be the ultimatum to make it happen.
