2. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvOiXMnkioU When you have a nickname of "The Brain" you have to be on a list like this. That, plus the fact that Bobby Heenan really does come across like one of the smartest people in the history of wrestling. Heenan was nicknamed The Brain because when he managed so many great superstars in the 1980s and into the 1990s, he was smarter than everybody else. That was the gimmick. He was smart enough to convince Andre the Giant to turn on Hulk Hogan and go heel to set up WrestleMania 3. That's Heenan being the smartest guy in the room. That's what the gimmick was all about. His announcing run was also great because he would argue with his buddy Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon all the time as they questioned his morals for everything he said. If it was evil, Heenan would say. That was just The Brain doing his thing. We hated him for it, but we really loved it because we knew he was so good at his job. Heenan's career as a wrestler did not really lead to great success for him, but his run as a manager and announcer was perfect for him as he showed everybody why he was known as The Brain.
