WWE: 10 Superstars Of The 2000s That Everyone Forgot About
There are many WWE superstars who were not mentioned on this list, but should have been remembered for their truly unforgettable run at some point between 2000 and 2009 in the WWE. While some of you may not agree with the people on this list, or may feel that there are others that should have replaced them, the subject is one that could be commented and debated upon with no ending. Here are some of the honourable mentions, who were considered for the list: Chris Benoit Having been written out of the WWE history books, Benoit had one of the most decorated careers during his run. Unfortunately, that all came to an end after his controversial suicide in 2007 after murdering his wife and son. While his legacy is one that WWE would like forgotten, the impact of his death has led to probably one of the safest times to be a member of the WWE roster. Essa Rios Debuting with Lita by his side, Essa Rios had a short lived tenure in the WWE, Having appeared in the company in the late 90s as Mr. Aguila, he was re-packaged in 2000 and had a brief run as the Light Heavyweight Champion. Today, many people associate the rise of Lita with the Hardy Boyz, but that association only came to light after her association with Rios ended. Dean Malenko Although still employed by the company, Dean Malenko's WWE run after his debut with the Radicalz is relatively forgotten. His time with the WWE led to one of the best gimmicks of 2000; that of the ladies' man "Double Ho Seven", complete with James Bond style entrance video. He retired in 2001 and is a road agent for the company. William Regal It's hard to believe that Regal is a multiple time European, Hardcore, Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion, King of the Ring and former Commissioner of the WWE. He's been instrumental in training wrestlers such as CM Punk and Bryan Danielson, and is probably one of the most talented wrestlers to have ever graced a WWE ring. He's never really received the recognition he deserves, yet is still heavily involved with the WWE today as a commentator for NXT. Shelton Benjamin Benjamin seemed to be on track to become something great in the WWE, but he never really reached the point where WWE were willing to pull the trigger and push him far enough to be remembered. He held multiple Intercontinental titles and a United States title during his time, and has since gone on to compete in Ring of Honor and New Japan. Rumours of his return to WWE still circulate today. Do you think that someone who had their WWE careers highs from the year 2000 up until 2009 should be featured on this list?
