WWE: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Cesaro

9. Cesaro Speaks Five Languages...

Cesaro is a smart guy. How smart? Well, for starters, he is completely fluent in five different languages. Yes, you read that correctly. Spark up a conversation with the Swiss Superman in Italian, French, German, English or his native Swiss dialect (itself a hybrid of Swiss and German) and he€™ll be right there with you, not missing a single beat. Cesaro may swing people around the ring and bodyslam giants for a living, but he is actually a remarkably erudite (and often rather loquacious) individual, especially when one considers that he is using a second (or is that third? Or Fourth? Or Fifth?) language. Once again, Cesaro defies expectations, because his promos (which you could reasonably expect would be his biggest professional downfall) are generally very solidly delivered, usually with his own brand of enigmatic charisma, understated humour and deep conviction. Go back and watch the promo he delivered before his (blisteringly good) match with William Regal on NXT last December. It was an old school promo; the kind delivered by a dedicated athlete as opposed to a cartoon character, and it worked. It got the Christmas 2013-model Cesaro over as a bloodthirsty young upstart, eager to make a name for himself by any means necessary (even if that meant grinding the respected veteran Regal under his heel). So yeah, Cesaro speaks five whole languages (and many people these days seem barely able to use one!). You could also assume that he speaks €˜locker room€™ Japanese and enough Spanish to get by in Mexico as well. Phew!

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
