1. Stand Back, There's A Hurricane Coming Through!
Coming in at number-one on the list is none other than Gregory Helms and his portrayal as wrestling's most successful superhero, The Hurricane! Hurricane lands at the top of this list for two reasons. Reason one is because, in a business where wrestlers have paid tribute to superheroes, The Hurricane's entire gimmick was not based around wearing tights that had Batman's logo or designs similar to Spider-Man. The Hurricane's entire gimmick was that he believed and carried himself as if he truly were a superhero in a wrestling climate much different from the cartoonish one that The Blue Blazer existed in, complete with an alter ego in mild-mannered reporter Gregory Helms. The good news is, The Hurricane was a success and actually thrived, standing out among the pack with a great character and tremendous wrestling skill. Reason number-two for The Hurricane's placement on the list is because of his tendency to convert those he was allied with into members of his own Hurri-League. In the early stages of The Hurricane's run in the then-WWF, he was in league with "the psychic" (as he claimed) Ivory and disgruntled Alliance member Lance Storm. Neither one demonstrated heroic characteristics or garb until Molly Holly became Mighty Molly and was given the honor of being Hurricane's first legitimate sidekick. After Molly and Hurricane went their separate ways, The Hurricane took Rosey under his wing, who became known as Superhero in Training. In 2005, as Rosey and Hurricane continued their partnership, the duo turned into a trio with the insertion of the gorgeous Stacy Keibler as "Super Stacy." Eventually, Stacy and Rosey parted ways with WWE and Hurricane dropped the superhero schtick to focus being a heel and wrestling under his real name, demonstrating there was an equally villainous side to his formerly heroic personality. When WWE resurrected ECW, The Hurricane returned with an updated and darker look as the twisted sibling duo of Paul and Katie Lea Burchill attempted to uncover his "true" identity (despite the WWE Universe already being aware of it).
