WWE: 10 Most Undeserving WrestleMania Wrestlers Of The Last Decade

1. WrestleMania 27 €“ Michael Cole (vs. Jerry Lawler)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9NghgpC0_o One might argue that Michael Cole is a bit of a cheat here, as he is not a real wrestler, and I've steered clear of "celebrity guests" who could usually be deemed undeserving. But Cole was such a blinding stain on the WrestleMania record books that his presence could not be ignored. True, part of my vitriol stems from the build to this match, characterizing Michael Cole as a despicable bully. The story was so infantile and annoying that every painful minute wasted on it seemed like an eternity. How agonizing, then, that it was deemed worthy of a WrestleMania moment. Sure, we all laughed and winced to see Cole come out in his creepy collegiate wrestling gear. And yes, they tried to resurrect the situation by adding Steve Austin as the special guest referee. But when a comedy singlet and Stone Cold can't do the trick, you've got one heck of a deficit on your hands. Meanwhile, perfectly able wrestlers are sitting in the back, shaking their heads at it all. Michael Cole didn't raise our ire because he was such a terrific heel. We hated him because we didn't want to see him on our screens! Putting him in the ring against a far-past-his-prime Jerry Lawler handicapped Cole further. Lawler wasn't in Mania shape either, but I won't begrudge him his solitary match on the grandest stage. Michael Cole should have never left the announce table, and his being able to claim a WrestleMania victory sullies the notion of being WrestleMania-worthy.
