WWE: 10 Superstars Who Will Likely Be Released In 2014
9. Brodus Clay
Brodus Clay's old theme song said "Funk is on a roll", well now the man from Planet Funk may soon be rolling his way out of a job. When Clay first debuted as the Funkasauras, he was Vince McMahon's newest pet project. He loves characters who dance, and Clay was all about getting down with some elementary school level dance moves. Clay even got his own dancing skit complete with a dozen momma dancers at WrestleMania XXVIII. Soon after, though, Vince seemed to lose interest. After all, there were fresh new Fandangos and Xavier Woods who could do the same thing. Ever since his lengthy undefeated streak ended, Clay was reduced to jobbing. Half the time his entrance wasn't even shown on TV, which was the entire point of the act. He was then paired with Tensai in a team that didn't do either man any favors. Recently, Clay finally broke away to play the monster heel he should have from the start. Unfortunately, WWE is no longer interested in making him a monster. He had a new look, and a new theme song which he debuted on the C-show Main Event. It was all for nothing. After making no impact, and losing his initial matches, he already seems doomed. You just can't recover from jobbing to The Miz in a minute. Since Clay probably won't be repackaged again any time soon, he's more likely to be let go within the next year.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
