WWE: 11 People You Didn't Know Were Under Contract
8. Sara Del Ray
Did you know that WWE have one of the best female wrestlers of the last decade employed and under contract, yet she hasn't appeared on camera? Fans of the indie scene will be very familiar with Sara Del Ray, the queen of female wrestling on the independent circuit over the last ten years. She never needed WWE to make her name, instead forging a reputation for herself with sterling work in Ring of Honor, Chikara and Shimmer. Her run saw her working alongside the likes of Cesaro and Daniel Bryan, learning the craft to an elite level... then WWE came knocking. She signed with the big leagues in 2012. The reason you haven't seen her on TV yet is because her contract was for a position as 'trainer'. Despite only being in her early thirties, with plenty to offer the diva division, she is instead employed to train up the next generation of female talent. Under her real name of Sara Amato, she now gets to work at the WWE Performance Center and backstage at NXT. In some ways it seems a shame WWE never utilised her own ability to appear in the ring... but then again, as a purist, perhaps Amato is glad to avoid Total Divas and related segments.
