WWE: 11 People You Didn't Know Were Under Contract
7. Joey Mercury
Joey Mercury, now under his real name Adam Birch, is working as a trainer and producer for the main WWE roster. He is most famous for having competed as part of MNM, the tag team which blazed a trail for a while back in the mid-2000's. Mercury's life went downward after that brief success, he suffered with injuries, leading to sever substance abuse problems. This ended up so bad that Vince McMahon himself performed an intervention on Mercury in May 2006. Despite going to rehab, Mercury would later lose his job, nearly losing his house in the process. Step in CM Punk, close friend of Mercury, he bought the house to avoid his friend going homeless. Having cleaned up his life and overcome his demons, Mercury was welcomed back on to WWE TV in 2010, before being transitioned into a backstage role in 2012. This focused on training new stars in developmental, eventually leading to a job backstage as a producer. He also occasionally appears in WWE talking head roles and brawl scenes... so there you have it, Joey Mercury is still on the WWE pay roll.
