WWE: 12 Most Memorable Animal Sidekicks

9. H.O.G's Hogs

The early-to-mid-nineties were a strange time for the WWE. There was a bevy of occupational gimmicks in play such as a moonlighting garbage man, a race car driver, and a country music singer. Continuing this theme the WWE rolled out their newest creation: a hog farmer named Henry O. Godwinn (H.O.G) portrayed by Mark Canterbury. Canterbury certainly looked the part; wearing overalls, carrying slop buckets, and utilizing a rough and tumble style you might expect of a pig farmer from down south. Although Godwinn's animal sidekicks were largely off-screen references, Henry's fine swine were finally seen during WWE's first ever "Hog Pen Match', which pitted Henry against Hunter Hearst Helmsley. There was a hog pen setup created by the entrance way complete with fencing, mud, slop, and a drove of pigs straight from, presumably, Godwinn's farm. A bit later, not to be outdone with silly acronyms, Henry's "cousin" Phineas I. Godwinn (P.I.G) would join Henry's side though the Hog Pen Match, and pigs, wouldn't come back to WWE for over a decade.
