Let's face it: as smart wrestling fans, everyone had a secret fear in the back of their mind that HHH would allow himself to be the one to break the streak, and as the match wore on, that horrifying notion wasn't being helped as Taker was being systematically broken down. After three Peidgrees, Triple H would then begin to wail on Taker with a lot of devastating chair shots. At that point, HHH would tell Taker to just stay down in an outburst of frustration, and to add insult to injury, HHH would imitate Taker's throat slash taunt before picking him up for the Tombstone.
