WWE: 12 Most Powerful Stables In Wrestling History
11. The Hart Foundation (1997)
Significant Members: Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Jim Neidhart, Brian Pillman. When Bret Hart reformed The Hart Foundation in 1997 after mending relations between the rest of his family members, it ignited WWE's hottest angle in years. Playing the unique role of villains in America while being heroes to Canadians, the Foundation began warring with Stone Cold Steve Austin and D-Generation-X. The feud with DX would become very real, leading to probably the most infamous event in wrestling history, The Montreal Screwjob at Survivor Series 1997. The fallout from that event saw the disbanding of the Foundation as Bret (and eventually Smith and Neidhart) departed for WCW, along with the untimely passing of both Pillman and Owen. Memorable Moments: Canadian Stampede 10-man tag match, Voted Feud Of The Year in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards and Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Why They Were Powerful: At one point they held every championship in WWE; the WWE Heavyweight (Bret), Intercontinental (Owen), Tag Team (Bulldog & Owen) and European (Bulldog) and were the top heels in the company. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdCJFHh9NeQ
