WWE: 12 Most Ridiculous Sidekicks Ever

3. Matilda

Animals seemed to be a theme in the 1980s wrestling world, so as we continue our list it is no surprise that we run across another one. This time it was a bulldog named Matilda. The British Bulldogs were one of the most successful tag teams of the 1980s, whether it be from their work in Calgary, Japan, or the United States. Hard nosed, built like tanks, and excellent wrestlers are all words that could be used to describe the Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith. Towards the end of the team's run in the WWE, they were given a live mascot to work with. Koko B. Ware and Jake Roberts had definitely benefitted from the use of live animals, so it only made sense that a tag team named after an animal would come out with that animal. Matilda would became central to the team's act in their finals days in the WWE (1987-1988), most notably when Matilda was dognapped by the Islanders (Haku and the Tonga Kid).
