WWE: 15 Notable Performers That Have Never Been In A Royal Rumble Match

3. The Dudley Boyz

Though it's known and accepted that they never stand a chance of being booked to win, members of tag teams are frequently inserted into the Rumble match in order to boost the numbers or create friction between partners, who often eschew the idea of teaming up to adhere to the principle of 'every man for himself'. The Dudley Boyz originated in ECW, where a varied group of performers wrestled as the many supposedly illegitimate sons of a man known as Big Daddy Dudley. Two members of the stable, D-Von and Bubba Ray, moved to WWE in 1999, where they became known for their frequent use of tables and their participation in a handful of the greatest tag team matches of the era against Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt). Despite winning tag team gold on a number of occasions, the twosome were never involved in a Rumble match, despite the fact that members of their fellow tag teams, such as the A.P.A (Faarooq and Bradshaw) and Too Cool (Scotty 2 Hotty, Grandmaster Sexay and Rikishi), as well as the Hardyz and Edge and Christian, were utilised in the event on numerous occasions (though several other teams from the Ruthless Aggression era were never featured either, such as the Basham Brothers). Their 'little brother' Spike Dudley was officially a participant in the 2004 match (though he never actually made it to the ring after being attacked by Kane), but both Bubba Ray and D-Von left the company in 2005 to join TNA without a Rumble appearance to their names.
