2. Scott Hall
As one third of WCW's original New World Order with Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash, Scott Hall was part of perhaps the most well-known stable in wrestling history. Before this, however, he appeared for a number of years in the WWE as Razor Ramon, a character that went over well with the fans despite being a blatant Scarface knock-off. The gimmick saw Hall rise towards the top of the card and even participate in a match rated five stars by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter a ladder bout for the Intercontinental Championship (a title he won on four occasions) at Wrestlemania against Shawn Michaels. Despite having four solo matches at successive Royal Rumbles against Bret Hart, IRS, Jeff Jarrett and Goldust between 1993 and 1996, however, he never appeared in the event's signature match itself, not lasting long enough to have the opportunity during his second term with the WWE, which ended almost as soon as it began in 2002 as a result of Hall's drug problems, which have persisted for many years (though like Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, he is seemingly on the mend as a result of Diamond Dallas Page's intervention). Interestingly, the 'character' of Razor Ramon would make an appearance in the 1997 Royal Rumble, but this was after Hall had already left the company and was a wrestler named Rick Bognar instead. This version of 'the bad guy' was thrown out of the ring in seconds, though the fake counterpart of Kevin Nash's Diesel (played by Glenn 'Kane' Jacobs) lasted until the final four.
