7. Backlash 2007
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9NPbAqFEg0 This was the first non-big-four Pay Per View since Judgment Day 2003 that wasnt limited to a single brand, and you could really tell that they were pulling out the big guns with the top stars on all three shows. What I really liked about this show was that unlike other Backlashes/Extreme Rules PPVs, this wasnt a card completely full of Wrestlemania rematches. Rather than do Shawn Michaels and John Cena one-on-one again, they added Edge and Randy Orton to the mix for a Fatal Four Way, and the match ended up being a low-end Match of the Year Candidate, albeit overshadowed by HBK and Cenas near-hour-long match on Raw from London the week prior. Rather than do Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga, they added Vince and Shane to Umagas side, which made for a more interesting match. The two matches that were actual Mania rematches were also good as well. Undertaker and Batista put on another good show in their last man standing match, and if you can stomach watching a Benoit match when he was getting wildly cheered in his hometown of Atlanta, the match with MVP is very good. The real highlight was seeing how over the Hardys were in the opener, with the entire crowd clapping along with their entrance music.
