The Good: There wasn't much to shout about at Rock Bottom. When Steve Blackman is in the best match of the card, you know you're in trouble. Rock Bottom was an apt name for this show. The Bad: Michael Cole's commentary, for a start. If you think Cole is bad today, check out Rock Bottom to see how much he used to suck. It was woeful. Cole took over announce duties from Jim Ross after JR suffered a severe Bell's Palsy attack. The current voice of the WWE didn't even know half of the names of wrestler's moves. The main event Buried Alive match between Steve Austin and The Undertaker, which sounds great on paper, was a total washout. These two had some absolute stunners (pun intended) earlier in the year but this gimmicked mess was far from their finest hour. The Rock and Mankind also under-performed in The Rock's first defence of the WWF Championship. On the undercard there were too many short or just plain bad matches. Al Snow, Bob Holly and Too Cold Scorpio versus The Brood sounds like a lot of fun but it really wasn't. Kurgan and Golga versus The Headbangers was worse. The Rest: Goldust and Jeff Jarrett had a match where the stipulation was if Goldust wins then Debra had to strip and if Jarrett wins then Goldust had to strip. Goldust lost meaning he had to strip but commissioner Shawn Michaels came out and reversed the decision meaning Debra had to strip. Because the Attitude Era.
