WWE 2003 PPVs From Worst To Best
4. Royal Rumble
The Good: Royal Rumble played host to arguably the best WWE match of the year (and one of the best of the decade). Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle went out and positively tore it up for twenty minutes. This match alone was worth the money it cost to order the show.
That's not taking into account the great Royal Rumble match, either. The 2003 Rumble featured a great mix of talented midcarders, bona fide stars and helped to either set up or advance storylines for WrestleMania XIX. Brock Lesnar was the obvious choice for winner.
The Bad: Scott Steiner versus Triple H. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...where to start with this one? The build was a lot of fun, but they completely blew it on the big night. Steiner was so broken down he couldn't do a lot and carrying so much muscle that he was blown up a few minutes in. He could barely throw a simple suplex by the end of the contest and crowd turned on him.
You know things are bad when you start feeling sorry for 2003 Triple H!
Dawn Marie versus Torrie Wilson was trash.
The Rest: After Jamal (Eddie 'Umaga' Fatu) started causing bother in the ring and on the road, WWE booked him to take a stinkface from Rikishi, his own brother, during the Rumble. Disgusting.
