WrestleMania II - Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy Fight In A Blue Steel Cage
I think most fans would vote in favour of the old-school blue steel cage over today's chain link type, probably for nostalgia's sake more than anything. For me, it conjures memories of Saturday Night's Main Event, and that match where Hogan and Orndorff jumped off the cage onto the floor at the exact same time. The exact same time! I watched that match so many times, amazed by how they did it. The cage never fails to create an instant big match feeling, so it was a whopper of a way to finish WrestleMania II. Add in the fact that Hogan was facing King Kong Bundy who looked and acted like a classic wrestling baddie and you have a main event that's going to feel BIG no matter the quality of the grappling. And this Mania needed a big finish, after a lacklustre undercard and overambitious logistics. The Hulkster proved himself to be the perfect hero that night, overcoming the pain of ribs injured by Bundy, and the dastardly deeds of Bobby Heenan. His dramatic climbing of the cage gave us the payoff that the event so desperately needed.
