WWE: 4 Reasons Turning The Shield Face Works (And 4 Ways WWE Can Screw It Up)
3. It Creates New Opponents, New Dynamics
Given the list of wrestlers the Shield has decimated in the past year, it makes sense to turn and look at the other half of the roster. The feud with the Wyatts probably opened the door for this, with Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns becoming even bigger fan favorites. It isn't much of a stretch to see feuds with the Real Americans, Batista, Orton, etc. down the line, as well as a return engagement with the Wyatts, this time with a clear face team. It also allows WWE to bring talent up from NXT to be the new heavies for the Authority (Kane alluded to this recently) and tangle with the Shield. This doesn't have to be nor should it be a full turn to good. Just some small tweaks to their characters, their tactics and their opponents will keep them on top.
