WWE: 4 Reasons Turning The Shield Face Works (And 4 Ways WWE Can Screw It Up)

4. Change Their Entrance Or Appearance

If the Shield is truly becoming a face faction, it needs to be handled correctly or it could neuter 16 months of buildup. There are a few things that could help kill their momentum, one of which goes right down to their entrance. When the Shield's music hits, the cameras immediately pan up to the audience, where the clad in black trio emerge and start making their way through the crowd to the ring. It's a simple move, but an important one. It paints the Shield as outsiders, loners who enter and leave their way. They dispense their brand of justice on the WWE locker room, so they don't come out of the locker room and walk down the ramp like the rest of the talent. Also, their black SWAT-style gear has to stay. Fans wouldn't take them as seriously if they were wearing singlets and boots. A large part of what makes the Shield who they are is their entrance and their attire. Do away with that and you've drastically altered the team.
