4. They Compliment Each Other Perfectly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEZ69jT7Jnc Some have said that the addition of a fourth member of the Shield would allow them to cover their bases better in areas that the three current members may be a little wanting. However, this argument does not really hold up when one sees the immense range of talents these three wrestlers have. After all not just anyone gets to face the Undertaker unless the Deadman thinks they are good and ready. The Shield has three performers that are not only great for each other but in their own ways unique- both in the ring and on the microphone. First off there is Dean Ambrose whose unique off-kilter promos which seem to have a little of Heath Ledger's Joker about them gives the Shield a disturbing feel in a similar way that Mick Foley did in his first few promos as Mankind. Ambrose also is great in the ring, with his frenetic brawling/submission style and his ability to sell- particularly submission moves ( nobody has made the Walls of Jericho look more painful in a long time ). Secondly there is Seth Rollins who has the look and technique to eventually be a CM Punk style face- full of countercultural rage to offset the wholesome John Cena type with great high flying and high impact moves. Finally there is Roman Reigns whose spears and powerbombs say far more than many words could. He screams and spits and acts like the true enforcer of the group and will only become better with time. So put simply, why would you want to add anything to this group? They seem to have filled all the gaps that each performer has really well- which is one of the reasons they are so hot at the moment in the WWE.
