WWE: 5 Awesome Attitude Era Superstars and 5 That Sucked

4. Hardcore Holly

Hardcore Holly is someone who can be called a company man. The type who€™s loyal to his employer, is okay being in the spot that he is, won€™t complain, and will always do what€™s asked of him. The guy came in during a time when the WWE felt the missing piece to most of their wrestlers€™ gimmicks were day jobs. Hence, Bob €œSpark Plug€ Holly, race car driver. Fast forward a few years later and Holly gets reinvented with the hardcore gimmick. And man, did he do his best to live up to that title. Just ask any of the former WWE developmental/Tough Enough guys who got the s**t kicked out of them thanks to good €˜ol Bob. He had a decent run with Crash Holly as his cousin, either fighting together for the tag team titles or battling each other over the Hardcore Championship. The peak of his career during the Attitude Era came about when he wrestled Chyna and Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Title at the 2000 Royal Rumble. Which proved to be a lucky Pay-Per-View for Holly, as years later he would find himself facing Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the 2004 Royal Rumble. Which further showed that being a company man eventually pays off.
