WWE: 5 Best Moments Of The Attitude Era

1. The Undertaker vs. Mankind at King of the Ring

http://youtu.be/Iaw6-i0LtPo This may or may not be a popular choice. I guess it's how you feel about this match which will ultimately decide whether or not you agree with my pick here, but in my opinion this was the match that completely epitomized the entire Attitude Era. The extremes, the hardcore action, the envelopes it was willing to push, it all came together in one beautiful match between Mankind and the Undertaker facing of in the Hell in a Cell at King of the Ring in 1998. Nowadays, with the PG rating, you would never see anything close to the brutality of this match. Mick Foley has always been known for the ability to put his body through extreme physical pain. This match took that ability to new heights. Early in the match, The Undertaker throws Mankind straight of the top of the cell and right through the Spanish announce table. It was something that had not only ever been done before, but in my young mind was something that I'd never even thought was in the realm of possibilities. As if that wasn't enough, Foley climbed back up to the top only to be choke slammed straight through the ceiling of the structure and right down on the mat. Amazingly he wasn't quite done yet. Not until The Undertaker slammed Mankind onto a pile of thumbtacks and delivered a tombstone pile driver did this match finally come to a merciful end. No one will ever forget the image of a bloodied Mankind with his tooth stuck through his lip, an image that, in my mind, personified the Attitude Era.
