4. Bret Hart vs. Booker T
Bash at the Beach- July 12, 1998
One of the last great flares from a career whose ship was unfortunately reaching its too-soon twilight, helped in no part by the horrendous booking Bret Hart and his Hitman character were subjected to upon arrival in WCW, Hart's Atlanta feuds with Chris Benoit, Booker T, and Dallas Page were really the only feuds Hart was able to sink his wrestling teeth into in WCW that really get into that "wrestling as art" level. This fierce match from Bash at the Beach with a prime Booker T of course features a heel Bret Hart, whose intensity in this bout seems amped up and that brings a real extra bounce to the step of his smarmy bad-guy character to really get under the skin of an already hot and pro-Booker crowd. The athleticism and compatibility of the two opponents lent to a match with a rather lousy finish a greater shine by having a great wrestling encounter at Bash at the Beach.
