WWE: 5 Heel Turns That Worked (And 5 That Didn't)

BeFunky_rockvsaustin In professional wrestling, the heel turn is an art form that, if executed properly, allows a baby face to completely re-invigorate his character, and become a successful bad guy. A heel turn can occur for a number of reasons, like a good guy's act running stale, a character taking on a new motivation, or as a shocking surprise that swerves the audience. A well executed heel turn should leave the audience stunned, and desperate to see this new heel get his just deserts. On the other hand, a poorly executed heel turn can leave the audience confused, wondering why someone that they once loved (or someone they can't see as a rule breaker) all of a sudden has to resort to devious tactics to win matches. When a heel continues to receive cheers from fans, or even worse, receives silence, the heel turn has not been successful.
