2. Matt Bloom
Now we get to a man who is one of the reasons behind this article. You may not recognize the name Matt Bloom, but you surely recognize the man above this paragraph. He has had many names, including Tensai, A-train, Albert, and Giant Bernard. Now, you may have seen part of his current run with Broadus Clay as Tons of Funk and may be thinking, "why in the world would WWE use this guy more?" Simply put, because Matt Bloom is a talented, talented big man. Don't believe me, look at the above picture. See the item of gold draped around Bloom's neck? That my friends, is the IWGP tag team belt. This particular picture is from Bloom's second run as IWGP tag champ with "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson as the team Bad Intentions. Now, I know what you are thinking: "Cory, this is a worked sport. Tag title reigns don't mean that much. Surely it doesn't mean he is talented." Of course, you are correct to an extent. However, title reigns still do mean something in this business and this particular title means a lot when it comes to Bloom when we consider this fact found at this link. Go ahead, go look at it. I'll wait. Back? Matt Bloom is the 3rd longest reigning IWGP tag champ in history, behind only Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Masahiro Chono. If you don't know, those are Hall of Fame worthy Japanese names. When a company lets you hold its tag belt for almost 1000 days, I think it says something about your level of talent. When you have had multiple title shots against Tanahashi, who many consider to be the best wrestler on the planet right now, I think it speaks volumes about your talent level, and about how WWE continually misuses this monster of a man.
