WWE: 5 Must Watch Superstar Documentaries

1. You Think You Know Me: The Story Of Edge

Edge Wwe Edge's career has been the subject of much discussion, debate and controversy in wrestling circles over the past several years among wrestling fans. Ranging from the affair with Lita that propelled him to the main event, to the vast number of title reigns he amassed in astonishingly quick period all the way to his recent Hall of Fame induction in 2012 perceived by many as too much too soon, Edge has been one of the most talked about performers in the business for the better part of the last decade. Therefore, a documentary on his life is something that I as a wrestling fan was very excited about. And this DVD feature did not fail to deliver. Infact, out of all the wrestling related documentaries I've watched this one is my absolute favorite. The Good: There isn't a whole lot wrong with this feature. Its got something in it for everybody. For fans of Edge the character, there is an in-depth career retrospective of his wrestling career ranging from his debut as the mysterious loner, to the tag team glory days with the Hardys and the Dudleys, followed by his deeply intense personal feud with Matt Hardy and finally the highlights of his main event run kickstarted by his well received feud with John Cena- this one has it all. The best part of this is Edge sits down and painstakingly explains the thought process behind each of these feuds and angles from a storyline and psychological perspective which makes this a very unique experience. Not only do you get a sense of the purpose the storyline was attempting to achieve, but you also get to see the evolution of Edge the character through the various stages of his career. For those of you like me who enjoy getting to know the person behind the character, there is a lot of wonderful content on this feature that will help you do just that. This feature has some terrific content showing Edge talking about his family and friends, relationship with Christian, hobbies apart from wrestling, taste in music and other creative endeavors, his love for his dogs etc that help you get a great glimpse into Adam Copeland, the person. All this is supplemented by some extremely rare and personal footage that is needless to say, unavailable anywhere else on the internet. The reason I picked this to be number one is because firstly, unlike the Foley DVD it wasn't hurt by the availability of any other matter on the same subject which made the content of this DVD feel fresh and original. Secondly, even as far as the wrestling related content goes, it thoroughly entertained me as both a wrestling fan and as a fan of Edge himself. After watching this feature, I've realized that while a lot of people consider Edge to be overrated and not a true 'Legend', it is this perception that actually makes him one of the most underrated talent in the history of the business. The legacy of classic matches and feuds that this man has been a part of speak for themselves. The Not-so-good: This is a very minor gripe that really doesn't reflect on the quality of the documentary otherwise but I felt like some of his feuds could have been discussed in more detail like the ones with Chris Jericho, Batista and Undertaker. These were not discussed in as much depth as I would have liked.
