WWE: 5 Reasons AJ Styles Won't Be Signed (And 5 Reasons Why They Should)
1. WWE's Main Event Slots Are Full
John Cena. Randy Orton. Sheamus. Albero Del Rio. Daniel Bryan. Mark Henry. Christian. Rob Van Dam (sometimes). Undertaker (sometimes). Chris Jericho (sometimes). All of these men can, with some justification, consider themselves to be WWE main event players at the time of writing. They all headlined Pay Per Views at one point or another last year and all have held major championships within the company. Now, add to that number the returning Batista, occasional dalliances by The Rock, the 'will he/won't he' stories of Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger and, of course, the eventual main event pushes that absolutely have to be headed towards Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes (to name but two) this year - and it seems that WWE's roster is full at the top. Assuming that WWE did hire A.J and that they did want to put him in a top spot, who would get demoted as a result? Would Dolph continue to languish as the respected worker with bags of charisma who never quite made it? Would WWE finally give up on Alberto Del Rio as a drawing card? Would Chris Jericho have to go back to putting Fandango over? Who knows? One thing is certain, however. A.J would be a tough fit for the WWE. ON THE OTHER HAND...
I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction.
I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long!
If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it).
I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work.
Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that!
Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?)
Latcho Drom,
