WWE: 5 Reasons Why A Zack Ryder Heel Turn Will Fail

2. He's Not Exactly The Best Actor

yr OK, speaking as a professional actor myself, I don't expect WWE wrestlers to suddenly win Oscars. Nor would I want them to, I mean Santino Marella as Forrest Gump has it's charms but no. I just want them to convincingly portray a good guy or a bad guy, speak well on the mic and put on the nest matches that tell the most exciting stories. Let's look at CM Punk. Here is a man who had a moment similar to the one Ryder is having right now. He was going nowhere, he was frustrated by the company so he took a mic and went out there and cut THAT promo. Everything changed. Suddenly he overtakes Randy Orton as the #2 guy and he hasn't looked back since. And why? Aside from his athleticism and the fact he is a self-proclaimed wrestling God, he is a damn judge of his own character. The best gimmicks don't fall far from the tree in pro wrestling, and CM Punk is a case in point. He make make you cheer or boo as loud as you can by being himself and exaggerating parts of his personality. And I truly honestly believe Ryder can't do that. I've seen nothing from Ryder to suggest that he isn't the slightly obnoxious, but kind hearted Long Island-lovin' broski we all know him to be. That seems to be the real Zack Ryder, he doesn't seem to have a mean streak so a heel turn wouldn't come from a place of truth, it would be forced and we'd see right through it. Like the Jim Ross heel turn of the 90's, we all know JR was a stand up guy so we all made like we were in line for Justin Bieber Tickets; We wouldn't buy it. And neither will we from Ryder.
