3. Cactus Jack Became Mankind Became Dude Love Becmae Mick Foley
Foley is God. Mick Foley found fame as Cactus Jack, he was known for his hardcore style, he would often take bumps worse than his opponent although it was him applying the move. Foley wrestled as Cactus Jack all around the world, having legendary matches with Terry Funk in Japan and a great feud with Big Van Vader. Jack got his first real push in WCW in a feud with Sting, however in WCW he would only achieve Tag team glory once in his whole time there. Jack then moved his act to different promotions most notably ECW where he gained a level of success playing the heel role. When Mick Foley arrived in WWE they decided to change his Cactus Jack name and gimmick to a much darker, deranged type of individual, this character was to be named Mankind. Mankind was a schizophrenic, this fit perfectly into Foley's wrestling style as he showed very low regard for his own body whilst wrestling. Mankind had some notable feuds with Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, Mick was also Mankind during his biggest moment, when he was thrown from the top of the Hell in a Cell match with the Undertaker. Mick also introduced us to a Dude Love character he had worked on before he was a wrestler. Dude Love was a much lighter side to Mick's character it was short lived yet still loved to this day. Mick reverted back to his Cactus Jack character for his retirement feud with Triple H, which is my personal favorite feud of all time. Mick also used his real name in his semi-retirement matches most notably against Randy Orton and Edge. In his time in WWE, Mick won the WWE championship three times, was the first Hardcore Champion and won the Tag team titles on seven different occasions. Mick has flirted with full time retirement for many years but some would say he has stuck round for too long, he had stints in TNA and has come back to WWE on a few occasions. Mick is also a New York times bestseller with his autobiography, whats in a name hey.
