WWE: 5 Things Daniel Bryan Must Do To Save Main Event Career

5. Get Vince McMahon's Ear And Demand The Main Event

vince mcmahon Vince McMahon likes to see his talent "pay their dues". There is a long history in WWE of wrestlers getting 'jobbed out' and made to fight for their spot before McMahon will fully get behind them. Just look at CM Punk. There is also Steve Austin, The Rock, even Triple H, who have all gone through a run of having been made to lose right before being catapulted to the top of the card. Perhaps that is what Vince is doing with Bryan right now, testing his resolve to see if he can handle the big time. It is important that Daniel Bryan grits his teeth and knuckles down to pleasing Vince. Bryan must accept that the feud with The Wyatt family is still an excellent opportunity for him to shine as a performer. The third main event of Survivor Series is hardly a bad spot to be in. Bryan should make the most of it, and all the time keep himself at the forefront of Vince McMahon's mind. Stonecold Steve Austin has spoken in the past about the importance of "having McMahon's ear". In his book, The Stone Cold Truth, Austin offers the advice that talent need to push a good relationship with McMahon, they need to bring him ideas and converse creative with him. Austin points out that all the top guys have done this, from Bret Hart to Shawn Michaels. You must be confident to talk ideas with the boss. Bryan needs to be doing this. He needs to give Vince reasons and angles for his main event return. As Shawn Michaels stated in his autobiography, Heartbreak and Triumph, "As a rookie, I never waited in line to be seen by Vince, I just walked past the queue of old timers and banged on his door and gave him my ideas". Vince likes someone who will fight and claw for their place on his cards. Daniel Bryan must demand the main event.
