WWE: 6 Divas That Must Return In 2014

4. Serena Deeb

When I think about WWE divas that never really got a fair shake in the company one of the first names I always think about is Serena Deeb. Serena had a memorable debut on the WWE main stage on the January 22, 2010 edition of Smackdown when she joined CM Punk's Straight Edge Society. It was a very memorable moment as CM Punk, who was joined by Luke Gallows, "saved" Serena by shaving her head as a way to cleanse her from her addictions to alcohol. In the weeks and months that followed, Serena appeared everywhere with Punk as the lone female member of the controversial group. There were stories at the time of the head shaving that WWE had asked members of their developmental roster at Florida Championship Wrestling if they wanted to shave their head for the sake of this angle. Serena is the one that jumped at the chance. A woman with a bald head is not a common look, but Serena was smart enough to realize it was an opportunity to get on television and further her career. That shows how passionate she was about her job, which is definitely a sign of a woman that loved the wrestling business. The Serena story is sad because she was never given the opportunity to regularly wrestler on Raw or Smackdown before her release in August of 2010. It's a shame because I feel like if she was given the chance to wrestle she would have become a great heel in the Straight Edge Society gimmick. She's proven in the indies, particularly in Shimmer, that she can perform well in any role. Since her WWE release in 2010, Serena has wrestled on independent wresting shows on occasion, worked a number of shows in Japan and currently lives in California where she is a yoga instructor. What impresses me about Serena the most is she was first signed by WWE at age 19 back in 2006. Now that she's 27 years old, in the prime of her career and nearly a 10 year veteran, I feel like she would have a lot to offer if she was given a fresh start.
